FAQ

What is PR-card? What is the difference between a PR-card and PR-permit?

The Permanent Residence Permit (PRP) is a document that grants non-residents the right to reside in Ukraine on a permanent basis. It is issued by the Ukrainian authorities and allows non-residents to stay in Ukraine indefinitely, with the same rights and privileges as Ukrainian citizens except for the right to vote and hold public office.

The Permanent Residence Card is a plastic card that is issued to non-residents who have obtained a Permanent Residence Permit (PRP). It serves as proof of the holder’s permanent residency status in Ukraine and must be renewed every 10 years.

At Pravelon Legal, we provide legal support services for non-residents who wish to obtain a Permanent Residence Permit (PRP) or a Permanent Residence Card in Ukraine

Do I need visa D to obtain a PR-card?

No, you do not need a D-type visa to obtain a Permanent Residence Card (PR-card) in Ukraine.

The D-type visa is a long-term visa that allows non-residents to stay in Ukraine for a period of up to 90 days for purposes such as work, study, or family reunification. However, the D-type visa is not required for non-residents who wish to obtain a PR-card in Ukraine.

To obtain a PR-card in Ukraine, non-residents must first obtain a Permanent Residence Permit (PRP), which grants them the right to reside in Ukraine on a permanent basis. The application process for a PRP may require certain documents and qualifications, depending on the specific circumstances of the applicant.

What is the period of obtaining a PR-card in Ukraine?

If you have all necessary documents in hand, the period of issuance of a PR-card is 15 working days from the date of submission.

Is it possible when the TR-card will be canceled?

Yes, it is possible for a Permanent Residence Card (PR-card) in Ukraine to be canceled under certain circumstances.

A permanent residence permit may be canceled if the owner violates the legislation of Ukraine, including immigration, or it turns out that it was issued on the basis of knowingly false information, forged documents or documents that have lost their validity; the immigrant has been sentenced in Ukraine to imprisonment for a term of more than one year and the court verdict has entered into force; actions of the immigrant pose a threat to the national security of Ukraine, public order in Ukraine; the immigrant violated the legislation on the legal status of foreigners and stateless persons, etc.
It is important to note that a permanent resident permit is tied to the holder’s immigration permit, and revocation of the permit does not necessarily mean revocation of the immigration permit. However, cancellation of a permanent residence permit may lead to difficulties in confirming the status of a resident in Ukraine.
